Sarte Selected Podiatric Physician
of the Year
Randall J. Sarte, DPM (middle), of Orangevale has been named California’s Podiatric Physician of the Year.
"The California Podiatric Medical Association (CPMA) Podiatric Physician of the Year recognition is presented to the California doctor of podiatric medicine (DPM) who has contributed the most to advancing the profession of podiatric medicine in California,” said CPMA President Dr. Ernest J. Hook, DPM, as he presented Association’s 2008 Podiatric Physician of the Year Award to Dr. Sarte during the organization’s 96th Annual House of Delegates in Anaheim, California this past June. The state’s leading professional society for foot and ankle specialists, CPMA represents over 1,000 doctors of podiatric medicine throughout California.
A podiatrist in private practice in Sacramento, California, Dr. Sarte is a board certified foot surgeon specializing in foot and ankle injuries and disorders. He is the team podiatrist for both the Sacramento Kings and Sacramento Monarch basketball teams, a position he has held for over a decade. Sarte has served as Chief of Podiatric Surgery at Sutter General Hospital and at Mercy American River/Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael. He currently serves on the medical/surgical staff at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael, and enjoys privileges at Sacramento’s Sutter Memorial and Sutter General Hospitals.
A native of Pennsylvania, Randall Sarte, DPM, 65, is a graduate of Arizona State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology. Sarte received his medical training at the California College of Podiatric Medicine (CCPM) first earning a Bachelor of Science in Basic Medical Sciences, and then his Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree in 1972. He is a Diplomat of both the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (ABPS) and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics (ABPOS), as well as a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine (ACFAOM) and of American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS). Dr. Sarte also serves as a podiatric medical consultant/expert for the Board of Podiatric Medicine, the State’s licensing and regulatory body for podiatric physicians.
Active in California’s podiatric medical profession and community for over thirty years, Dr. Sarte is a past president of the California Podiatric Medical Association, and of the state organization’s local Sacramento Valley Podiatric Medical Society. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Northern California Chapter of the American Arthritis Foundation. Dr. Sarte is currently a member of the Board of Governors for the Foundation for Excellence in Podiatric Medicine.
The father of three, Dr. Sarte resides with his wife Susan in Orangevale, California.
