A Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (ABPS) and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics (ABPOPPM), Dr. Wan received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Degree (DPM) from the California College of Podiatric Medicine (CCPM) in 1976. He did his residency at the prestigious
Walking the talk, Dr. Wan has been an ardent proactive member for the profession and Association. For nearly twenty-years he was an Associate Clinical adjunct professor at the California College of Podiatric Medicine, during much of that time (seventeen-years) he was also a member the Clinical Attending Staff of Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center. He has served as a member of the Exam Committees of both the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine, and is a current member of the American Podiatric Medical Association’s (APMA) Vision 2015 Committee. A contributing author of numerous podiatric journals and textbooks, Dr. Wan served as Senior Attending Surgeon of the Baja Project for Crippled Children for nearly a decade.
Dr. Wan has provided his extensive podiatric medical expertise to the Board of Podiatric Medicine (BPM), severing as a consultant and review expert for the State licensing and regulatory agency of the podiatric medical profession. A past president of the Los Angeles County Podiatric Medical Society, he has also served on many CPMA committees (including chairing the Association’s Peer Review and Governmental Affairs Committees) during his more than thirty-years as a member of CPMA. Elected to the CPMA Board of Directors in 2005 as a Director-at-Large, Dr. Wan quickly advanced through the Chairs serving as Secretary-Treasurer, Vice President, and President-Elect before taking the presidential gavel this past June.
