DeSantis Named CPMA President
Orange County Podiatric Physician Installed as CPMA President
Jeffrey R. DeSantis, DPM, FACFAS, was installed as the California Podiatric Medical Association’s (CPMA) new President at the Association’s 92nd Annual House of Delegates in Anaheim in June. In his address to the delegates, Dr. DeSantis said that during his tenure he expected to build on the solid foundation laid by his predecessors and take CPMA from a VERY good Association to a GREAT ONE!
“CPMA has finished an astounding year! What we’ve accomplished will benefit our colleagues for years to come. The achievements were not accomplished overnight, but rather are the results of several years of hard-work and sacrifices made by many of our members. Your Association is exhibiting p=mv,or as you recall from your undergrad physics days, momentum.
Your newly elected Board will use this as a springboard to attain greater heights in all of CPMA ’s activities,” Dr. DeSantis said.
Board certified in foot and ankle surgery, Dr. DeSantis is in full-time private practice with busy offices in Orange and Newport Beach. His hospital affiliations include: St. Joseph Hospital, Orange; Children ’s Hospital of Orange County, Chapman Medical Center, Orange, and Fountain Valley Regional Medical Center in Fountain Valley. Dr. DeSantis is a clinical instructor in the Podiatric Surgical Residency Program at United Western Medical Centers in Santa Ana California. Dr. DeSantis has been active in local, state and national medical associations for over 13 years. He served six years with the Orange County Podiatric Medical Society during which time he held every Board position -director, secretary-treasurer, vice president and president. During his tenure as President of the Orange County Podiatric Medical Society, he received the CPMA Local Society President ’s Award for his leadership. In 1998 Dr. DeSantis was elected to the CPMA Board of Directors. Two-years later he was awarded the Association ’s Distinguished Service Award. Dr. DeSantis is also active on the national level, frequently serving as a CPMA delegate to the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) House of Delegates. In 2000 he was appointed to the national ’s important Health Policy Committee.
A graduate of San Diego State University, Dr. DeSantis received his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1986.He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 1990 from the California College of Podiatric Medicine (CCPM) in San Francisco. After which, he completed his surgical residency at CCPM/ Pacific Coast Hospital. Dr. DeSantis makes his home in Newport Beach, where he resides with his wife Laurie and their two daughters.
