Poggio Proclaimed Podiatric Physician of the Year

Dr. Poggio has been the recipient of numerous CPMA awards including: The President’s Award, Volunteer of the Year in 1998, 1999 and 2000. In 2000 he also received the Association’s Distinguished Service Award. “Tony is a truly remarkable person who helps us on what seems to be a nearly daily basis,” Dr. DeSantis said in presenting the award. “We Board Members or CPMA staff call him with difficult questions or concerns and get an answer immediately. Tony has done this for years and years, and years.”
A certified medical examiner, Dr. Poggio has served as a consultant for a number of third-party payers and insurers. He has chaired CPMA’s Medicare Committee for a decade. He also serves as the Association’s Medicare CAC (Carrier Advisory Committee) Representative and Liaison to NHIC. “He’s our go to guy on all CMS (Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services) matters,” said CPMA Executive Director Jon A. Hultman, DPM, MBA. “I can’t think of anyone more deserving of the Association’s highest honor than Tony.”
