Message from the President on California Fires

Dear CPMA Members:

As President of the California Podiatric Medical Association (CPMA), I wanted to reach out to you to let you know that CPMA is closely monitoring the devastating wildfires that are currently ravaging our beautiful state and have resulted in the loss of both life and property.

We are deeply saddened by the accounts that are beginning to trickle in of members who have suffered total losses or significant damage to their homes and practices, which took many years to build and will take many more to rebuild.

We are still gathering information, but do know that many of our friends, colleagues, and their patients are affected by these horrific fires. Homes and businesses have been lost; clinics are damaged and closed. It will be many months to years before life returns to any semblance of normalcy for our fellow Californians.

I want you to know that CPMA is committed to supporting our members in any way possible. The CPMA staff is frantically working to create tools to assist our members in need. As soon as they are up and ready to use, we will notify you.

Members can contact CPMA with questions or information on members in their area at (800) 794-8988 or

Members can connect with the Association and each other on the CPMA’s Facebook page or on Twitter at

An excellent resource for the North Bay fires can be found on these sites:

Staff is currently working to gather resources for the Anaheim fire, which will be posted as soon as available.

We will continue to keep our members updated.

Last, but certainly not least, CPMA thanks the courageous firefighters and other first responders who are putting their lives on the line to save others.
