Obesity and Diabetes Prossible Factors for Rise in Stokes in Younger Age Groups

 

More young and middle-aged adults are having strokes, a new study suggests.

Increases in obesity, diabetes and high cholesterol could be risk factors in increased incidents of stroke in younger age groups according to a regional study of stroke rates.

In 1994, 12.9 percent of strokes occurred in adults between ages 20 and 55, whereas in 2005, 18.6 percent of strokes occurred in this age group.
