DHCS to Offer Additional August Webinars on Coordinated Care Initiative (CCI) - Duals

Aug 13, 2013 - Aug 21, 2013

The California Department of Health Care Services is offering two educational webinars (8/13 and 8/21) on the Coordinated Care Initiative (CCI) in August.

The pilot project, also known as "CalMediConnect," was authorized by the Assembly in July 2012 in an effort to save money and better coordinate care for the state’s low-income seniors and persons with disabilities. The program begins with a three-year demonstration project that would transition nearly 500,000 of the state's dual eligible beneficiaries—those eligible for both Medicare and Medi-Cal and commonly referred to as Medi-Medi patients—into managed care plans.

Enrollment is currently scheduled to begin in January of  2014 in 8 counties (Alameda, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino).
